We are excited to present the new digital format for the 2020 edition of the Venice Symposium!
As the conference will be held on a web-based platform, the online tools will give us the chance to introduce new interesting features and to provide a variety of sessions and contents that will enhance the symposium program.
The production of energy from alternative sources and its impact on climate change are among the main strategic tools implicated in the sustainable development of our society. Numerous types of biomass and wastes contribute to the production of energy and reduction in the use of fossil fuels by means of biological, chemical, and thermal processes. Existing biomass and waste to energy technologies are currently undergoing rapid development. Despite growing interest in the use of these technologies, in many countries, their implementation remains limited.
The aim of the Venice Symposium is to focus on the advances made in the application of technologies for energy recovery from biomass and waste and to encourage discussion in these fields.
Due to the COVID-19 global emergency, the 2020 edition of the conference has been converted to a fully virtual event. Although the health and safety of our participants is our top priority, we remain strongly committed to continuing to foster the diffusion of scientific knowledge, even in these difficult times. This is the reason why we have decided to convert Venice 2020 into an online-only conference.
The virtual edition of the Symposium will feature: highly interactive live sessions
• round tables
• e-poster presentations
• Q&A moderated chats
• a virtual exhibition by companies working in the field
• several opportunities for networking
• expected attendance of over 400 delegates from all over the world.
The Symposium is organized by the International Waste Working Group (IWWG) with the scientific support of the Universities of Padova, Trento, Hokkaido, Rostock, Tsinghua, Queensland, and the Hamburg University of Technology.
