The event which will take place across 22nd & 23rd May 2019 is being supported by more than 140 exhibitors and it’s expected that around 3000 visitors will descend on Stoneleigh Park near Coventry. Boasting three conference theatres, two exhibition halls, three live demonstration arenas, a number of public and private meetings and a plethora of social events, the show looks set to be the waste and recycling networking event of the year.
On day one, some of the most influential figures in the waste, recycling and resources industry will take part in a headline debate in the SUEZ Keynote Theatre. Chief executives, David Palmer-Jones of SUEZ UK and Michael Topham of Biffa will join the panel along with Viridor’s managing director, Phil Piddington and Jacob Hayler, executive director of the Environmental Services Association. The session will ‘provide attendees with a powerful insight into the latest thinking and direction of the UK’s waste management industry’.
Conference highlights also include a special session updating the audience on the thinking behind the Resources and Waste Strategy coupled with views on how it should be delivered. Speakers include Claire Shrewsbury, head of government and communities, WRAP; Adrian Hawkes, policy director, Valpak; Jeff Rhodes, head of environment and external affairs, Biffa; and Daniel Roberts, waste team leader and vice chair at LARAC.
One of the stand-out features of the event is the live demonstration area, which will see an array of equipment moving, shredding and sorting material. Models confirmed for the show include material handlers such as the Fuchs MHL331F, the Volvo EW240E, the Sennebogen 830 and a selection of machines from Liebherr and JCB including wheeled loaders and material handlers. Among the processing machinery, the Eggersmann Teuton Z55 shredder and Terra Select trommel screen will be in action, along with the Lindner Urraco 750DK mobile shredder and Zetastar ZS75F mobile screen. The Doppstadt Inventhor Type 9 shredder and the VZ950 Titan shredder from German manufacturer Arjes will also be in action.
