The Nemus 2700 was a huge success, quickly winning over many customers in the hotly contested drum screening machine market. So it made perfect sense to translate these customers’ experience into the new Nemus 3000. This machine now takes the excellent qualities of its predecessor up another notch. One major aspect was the styling, which was thoroughly revised to fit with the updated Komptech design line. After all, it’s a new machine, so why not show it?
Refining a proven design: Tough and flexible in every way Komptech drum screens have long been known as robust, flexible machines that can be used on any construction site. Very importantly, they almost never “choke” and are easy to maintain, repair in an emergency, or adapt to new requirements.
The choice of screen drums on the Nemus 3000 is part of this flexibility. The new modular drive design allows it to use the screen drums of selected competitor machines, with an adapter kit that makes fitting quick and easy.
The MTBF of the Komptech’s proven Drum-Grip drive chain has been doubled through a newly designed pick-up roller, an advantage that brings benefits in noticeably longer maintenance intervals. The simple construction of the machine as a whole and the maintenance accesst hat has been improved at many points add further service and maintenance-friendliness. User-friendliness was not forgotten either – operation is straightforward using the main display panel at the rear of the machine, where the operator has a great view of the inside of the drum. Komptech’s familiar large colour display is offered as an option.
The extensive standard equipment is another plus. Long discharge conveyors with cone heights up to 3.7 metres, PU scraper and adjustable conveyor speed are all standard features that boost practicality and economy. With its modular design the Nemus 3000, whether hydraulic or electrically powered, can be ordered as a central axle trailer, semitrailer or tracked version.
Hybrid technology: Energy savings mean cost savings
Komptech can meet pretty much any customer wish when it comes to drive technology. From electric power from the grid or a generator to emission level 3b and 4 diesel engines, with the Nemus 3000 all options are available. On the Nemus 3000 Hybrid everything is electrically powered, from the five cubic metre hopper to the discharge conveyors. This has the advantage of higher flexibility, which translates into a wider range of applications. If the machine is run on grid power there are no exhaust emissions. This can be a big advantage for permitting in sensitive locations.
Plug sockets on the machine can be used to power additional components like supply conveyors. Electric drive also benefits maintenance. For one thing, there is less of it to do, since maintenance-free electric motors take the place of hydraulics. For another, the simple access makes cleaning and inspection very convenient.
The savings in energy costs also have a direct and positive effect on operating costs – in generator operation energy costs are up to 30 percent lower, and when grid powered they can be up to 75 percent lower than in diesel operation. It would be hard to think of a better example of “Green Efficiency.”
With the Nemus 3000 Komptech is introducing a new era in drum screen design. Tough, efficient in every way, and designed for maximum usability – that’s how modern drum screening should be.Click here for related articles and newsSearch for drum screener manufacturers in our equipment guide
