Cleansort GmbH, a technology company specialized in high-precision sorting solutions using laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), celebrated a significant growth milestone at its site in Rösrath, Germany on December 12, 2025. The event, themed “The Future of LIBS is built,” marked the opening of the expanded Application Center and new production areas, as well as the presentation of the latest sorting solution, VarioLIBS, with its newly occupied production hall.
Continuous growth and investment in the future
The event marked the successful conclusion of an extraordinary year in 2025. Contrary to broader economic trends, Cleansort is experiencing strong, exponential growth, both in terms of team size and operational space.
In his opening speech, Managing Director Philipp Soest acknowledged Cleansort’s development – from its founding in 2018 after years of intensive research (supported by funding from the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt) to the global market launch of its sorting solutions. He expressed his special appreciation to all partners, customers, employees, and shareholders who actively support the company’s successful journey.
Application Center: The new standard for customer trials in recyclable materials recycling
The expanded Application Center at Nussbaumweg forms the technological backbone of the company. It now features a state-of-the-art KeyLIBS sorting system with fully integrated SpaceLIBS technology and six MetaLIBS laser modules.
“Our Application Center now offers customers the unique opportunity to test between three and six MetaLIBS modules under real-world conditions. With two systems connected via conveyor belts, we enable fully automated testing in a cutting-edge environment for precise sorting and analysis solutions,” explains Philipp Soest, Managing Director of Cleansort GmbH, during the event.
The expansion also includes a new control room, allowing trials to be monitored with a direct view of the system.

The three hundred invited guests were given comprehensive insights into production processes, the new VarioLIBS solutions, and the Application Center during guided tours, which particularly impressed the technology-oriented audience.
