Become an expert

Answer the questions your buyers are already asking.

Plant managers, engineers and buyers send us technical questions every week. We route each one to a named specialist at a manufacturer. Put one of your people on that panel and their name — and your company — sits under every answer they give.

One expert is included with an Enhanced or Partner listing. We look for people who answer questions rather than pitch — that is the whole reason readers trust the panel.

What it gives you

Credibility that keeps working after the answer is published

Your name under the answer

Every published answer carries the expert’s name, role and employer, with a link to your manufacturer profile. Readers can weigh who is talking — and that is exactly why they read it.

A profile in the panel

Your expert gets a profile in Our Experts and appears on the market and technology pages of their zone — the pages people land on when they are looking for equipment, not for us.

Reach beyond the page

Answers travel through the site and the twice-weekly e-newsletters, and they stay online afterwards. The next person with the same problem finds your answer, not a brochure.

What we ask in return

Three things, and they are the whole deal

One zone, one person

Pick the technology zone you actually build for, and name the person who answers. A shared inbox does not work here — the answer needs a face.

A technical answer, not a pitch

Answer the question that was asked. Naming your own product is fine when it genuinely is the answer; turning the reply into a sales page is not, and we will send it back.

A reply within five working days

Questions arrive in bursts. If your expert cannot take one, say so and we route it to another zone — that is better for everyone than silence.

Where it shows up

Four places, from one answer

  • On the published question itself, in the public archive that readers and search engines find.
  • In Our Experts, with your expert’s photo, role and a link to your manufacturer profile.
  • On the market and technology pages of their zone, next to the equipment your buyers are comparing.
  • In the Ask the Expert panel of the main menu, which is on every page of the site.
Put someone forward

Tell us who answers, and in which zone

We read every application ourselves

There is no automated intake and no form letter back. An editor reads it, looks at the zone, and replies personally — an expert slot only works when the person behind it wants to do it.

  • The name, role and employer of the person who will answer
  • The technology zone they build for
  • A line or two on what customers ask them most
  • A link to your company profile on RecyclingInside, if you have one

Some zones have no expert at all right now — thermal treatment, weighing and instrumentation, dust and odour control, and conveying and feeding are the thinnest. If that is your field, say so; you will not be waiting in a queue.

FAQ

Before you put someone forward

What does it cost?

One expert is included with an Enhanced or Partner listing. There is no separate fee for the panel and no charge per answer. See what an upgraded listing includes.

How much time does it take?

Volumes differ per zone, and we would rather tell you what we actually see in yours than quote an average. Ask us before you commit and you get the real number.

Can we choose which questions we answer?

Your expert gets the questions in their zone. If one falls outside it, we route it elsewhere — and if a question does not suit your expert, tell us and we pass it on.

Do we get the details of the person asking?

No. This builds credibility, not a lead list. We publish the question without anything that identifies who sent it, and we do not pass their details to the expert or to anyone else.

Can we edit or withdraw an answer later?

A correction is always possible — tell us and we update it. Withdrawing a published answer is something we look at case by case, because other pages and newsletters may already link to it.

Can we stop being an expert?

Yes. Say the word and the profile comes down. Answers that are already published stay online under the expert’s name, unless we agree otherwise.

Ready to put your specialist forward?

One technology zone, one named person, and your company under every answer they give.
