Dainen Materials is a Japan-based company with three core businesses: anode material manufacturing, black mass trading, and anode recycling. Originally focused on the production of high-quality anode materials for lithium-ion batteries (LiBs), especially those used in electric vehicles (EVs), the company has grown into a specialized partner in the global battery recycling supply chain.
Our black mass and battery scrap trading business is backed by over a decade of experience within the Dainen Group’s trading division. Several years ago, this division was spun off and integrated into Dainen Materials to form a dedicated team with deep expertise in transnational battery material flows. We operate as a trusted intermediary between recyclers, refiners, and battery producers, facilitating cross-border transactions with strong regulatory compliance and logistics coordination.
Beyond trading, Dainen Materials is actively involved in battery recycling operations. We currently operate a black mass recycling facility in India, enabling vertical integration and localized processing of spent battery materials. This hands-on recycling capability enhances our understanding of material quality and recovery processes, and supports our partners.
Our anode recycling business leverages the combined expertise of our anode material division and our black mass operations. This allows us to recover and regenerate valuable graphite and other anode components from spent batteries—an area that remains underdeveloped in many parts of the recycling industry. Through this synergy, we contribute to a more complete and sustainable battery circular economy.
Today, Dainen Materials works with partners across Asia, Europe, and North America, providing tailored solutions for battery material procurement, recycling, and global resource circulation. Our goal is to build reliable, transparent, and environmentally responsible supply chains for next-generation battery materials.
