Baleconnect: Digital Platform Revolutionises Waste Disposal Management

18 Jun 2025  |
With BaleConnect, Strautmann Umwelttechnik is expanding its portfolio with a system for real-time monitoring and data-based analysis of baling presses. The scalable platform networks individual machines or entire fleets to form a smart overall system and opens up new possibilities for efficient, data-supported waste disposal management.

Intelligent machine control in real time

BaleConnect records and transmits operating data such as running times, number of bales, baling cycles and status messages in real time – with a particular focus on user-friendliness. The data can be accessed via a web-based dashboard, regardless of whether the machines are located in the same plant or at different sites.

Automated push notifications in the event of faults or maintenance requirements enable an immediate response. This minimises downtimes, increases machine availability and improves planning reliability.

Data analysis as the key to process optimisation

A central element of BaleConnect is the comprehensive data collection, which creates transparency and makes optimisation potential visible. The system allows not only the analysis of individual machines, but also the comparison of several units – for example in terms of capacity utilisation, bale volume or downtimes. This allows potential for improvement to be identified and utilised in a targeted manner.

Data collected over the long term can also be analysed to track seasonal developments or evaluate optimisation measures. This data-supported control enables companies to strategically align their waste disposal management – for example in maintenance, personnel planning or investment decisions.

Compatibility and modularity as an investment advantage

BaleConnect is already compatible with the AutoLoadBaler – a semi-automatic baler with automated filling. Other models in the Strautmann product range will be successively integrated. This makes the platform a future-proof solution for both new and existing customers that can be seamlessly integrated into existing processes.

Thanks to the modular structure, functions can be activated as required and updates can be easily installed.

Contribution to sustainable and resource-efficient waste management

The platform addresses key challenges facing the industry: rising disposal costs, a shortage of skilled labour and growing demands for sustainability and transparency. Through the intelligent use of data, BaleConnect helps companies to utilise resources more efficiently and streamline processes.

“With BaleConnect, we are not only providing an answer to current challenges, but also enabling our customers to enter a future-orientated, data-driven recycling management system,” explains the product management team at Strautmann Umwelttechnik.

Corporate strategy: mechanical engineering meets digitalisation

Strautmann Umwelttechnik has been synonymous with reliable solutions for the disposal of recyclable materials for over 30 years. With BaleConnect, the company is once again emphasising its innovative strength: classic mechanical engineering is combined with digital technologies – with the aim of offering customers not just hardware, but holistic, integrated systems with real added value.
