The strength of the TANA Hammerhead is its fast, 40 rpm rotor. The machine is designed to rapidly shred bulk waste, such as wood waste from construction sites, green waste, and municipal waste that is processed for energy production, where production capacity is important. At the same time, the Hammerhead’s torque can also shred moderate amounts of difficult materials, such as car tyres and spring mattresses. The combination of volume and torque makes the TANA Hammerhead a natural choice for customers looking for capacity and versatility for handling different materials with one shredder. Thanks to the high rpm of the rotor, the TANA Hammerhead is able to shred approximately 30–50 percent more material in the same time than shredders that rely solely on high torque.
TANA Hammerhead: Same ocean, different beast
There is no point in reinventing the wheel – and neither is there for shredders. We find it more sustainable to focus resources on how to further develop and improve what already exists. In the new TANA Hammerhead mobile shredder, we utilise the same proven technology as in the TANA Shark series of shredders that we have been developing for 20 years. Shared design features include, for example, the motor, conveyors, rotors and control unit.
We believe that reliability comes from components that have been tested in hard use and that we can guarantee. At the same time, we want to respect the loyalty of our customers and make their everyday life effortless. The familiar components, user interfaces and controls that have proven to be durable in previous TANA shredders also make using the new TANA Hammerhead shredder easy and reliable for our customers.
Effortless high-capacity shredding with unstoppable performance
All TANA shredders are precision manufactured using the most durable materials. After that, it is up to our customers to choose which of our shredders best suits their company’s needs. If you are not shredding just one material day after day in the same place on a construction site, an easily movable TANA mobile shredder is often the best option.
Although our customers share a desire to give waste a new life, they often have different needs. Tana’s range of shredders includes now two main series: the TANA Shark, which shreds difficult materials requiring high torque, and the TANA Hammerhead, which is suitable for volume shredding.
Both shredder series can be delivered as a fixed, i.e. stationary solution, or as a mobile unit that can be moved from one place to another at the construction site on rubber tyres or tracks. As sustainability and environmental requirements become more stringent, more and more companies want an electric-powered shredder in order to reduce their CO2 emissions. We encourage customers to choose an electric shredder whenever power is available on the construction site. In addition, each TANA Hammerhead model is also available with a diesel engine, which offers our customers a flexible, independent way of handling materials anywhere, independent of the construction site infrastructure, that offers full mobility.
