The globally based Bunting Group is a world leader in the design and manufacture of magnetic separators, metal detectors, and specialist magnet and magnetic technology.  The Bunting Group has manufacturing operations in the USA and UK as well as sales offices across North America and Europe.

Through constant product development, the Bunting Group provides a wide range of metal separation and recovery solutions to the recycling sector.  At the Redditch, UK manufacturing plant, the company is one of the world’s largest producers of Permanent Overband Magnets.  The range of metal separation and detection solutions is extensive and includes advanced technology such as Eddy Current Separators, the patented Stainless-Steel Magnetic Separators, and the revolutionary ElectroStatic Separators.

At the Customer Experience Centres in Kansas and Redditch, companies are able to undertake controlled material tests on a wide range of separators including high-intensity magnetic separators and the ElectroStatic Separator.  Such tests confirm the separation capabilities prior to installation of production-sized equipment.

The Bunting Group is also involved in research into the recycling of strong Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets and is a member of the EU-funded SUSMAGPRO group.

Bunting has experience of supplying separation solutions for a wide range of applications including:

  • Aluminium recovery from dross
  • Steel and aluminium recovery from pre-sorted house refuse
  • Copper recovery from electronic scrap
  • Stainless-steel removal from shredded UPVC windows
  • Removing problematic metal from shredded recycled wood and timber
  • Cleansing plastic waste of small metal contamination

The Burting Group is a member of the British Metal Recyclers Association, bvse-Bundesverband Sekundärrohstoffe und Entsorgung, Plastics Polymers Manufacturing Association, and the UK Magnetics Society.
