SICON Presents the Solution: The EcoShred® Wiretec
With almost 30 years of experience in the processing of (A)SR materials, SICON has developed an innovative and cost-effective solution for cable processing: the EcoShred® Wiretec.
The EcoShred® Wiretec is a vertical hammer mill that can be operated in reversible mode. In a single pass, across five grinding levels, it enables:
- effective liberation of non-ferrous metals and insulation
- nuggetizing of non-ferrous metals
- magnetization of stainless steel components for further separation
Thanks to its non-cutting shredding principle, the Wiretec operates with extremely low wear and avoids the typical issues associated with conventional blade technologies.
In addition to cable material, the EcoShred® Wiretec is ideally suited for processing fine Zorba fractions and other metal-containing material streams that were previously considered uneconomical to recycle.
Flexibly Integrable – For New and Existing Plants
The Wiretec is suitable as a more economical replacement for existing shredding and liberation technologies in older plants, as well as for new installations with advanced SICON separation technology.
