The ISWA World Congress 2026 takes place from 9 to 11 November 2026 at the QEII Centre in Westminster, London. Organised by the International Solid Waste Association, the congress is the sector’s principal global meeting point for waste and resource management, bringing together policy makers, municipal operators, industry and researchers from more than eighty countries.
The programme runs across parallel technical sessions covering collection and logistics, mechanical and biological treatment, recycling markets and secondary raw material quality, energy from waste, landfill management and closure, marine litter, and the informal waste sector. Case studies from cities and national programmes sit alongside academic papers, and a technical exhibition and site visits run in parallel.
For European recyclers and technology suppliers, the congress is less a sales floor than a place to read the direction of global policy: extended producer responsibility schemes, the UN plastics negotiations, and the financing of waste infrastructure in emerging markets are recurring themes.
