STF Group develops and integrates turnkey recycling and sorting plants for plastics as well as mixed waste streams. An important part of STF’s technology portfolio is the optical sorting technology provided by UCY Technologies. UCY sorters combine high-resolution VIS and SWIR sensors with real-time artificial intelligence to precisely identify and selectively separate materials, colors, shapes and contaminants within the material stream. The product range includes the UCY A-Series belt sorters for PET bottles, plastics and mixed waste streams, the F-Series for sorting fine plastic fractions and flakes, and the Q-Series for in-line quality control and process monitoring.
At STF, the sorters are not treated as stand-alone machines, but as integrated process steps within the complete recycling plant. This allows sorting performance, material quality and plant control to be optimally coordinated. The result is stable material fractions, high purity levels and a reliable basis for downstream washing, grinding and extrusion processes.
