Rotar attachments are the ‘first choice for machine operators’ – this is the motto of the Dutch owner-managed company. Rotar International B.V. has been developing, manufacturing and selling the eye-catching red shears, pulverisers, grabs and vibratory buckets in Europe and worldwide for more than 40 years. These are used in the demolition, recycling and scrap metal sectors, as well as for screening and material separation. Over the decades, the company has developed some fundamental guidelines that now form its organically grown DNA which is based on many years of experience, innovation and continuou Convincing solutions for growing demands of the industrys development. The devices are steadily optimised in close cooperation with customers in order to achieve continuous positive development in terms of productivity, safety and working comfort according to the growing requirements of the industry.
Approachable contact partner
It is almost unique in this industry that Rotar has remained an owner-managed manufacturer that is independent of corporations and investors and can rely on employees who identify strongly with their employer and are highly valued by the company. This has resulted in an unbeatable service mentality and customer focus, which displays itself in a high level of expertise, dedicated consultant quality and unrivalled availability with very fast feedback on enquiries and problems, offering customers trust and security. Many customers are medium-sized companies that are also owner-managed, which creates a strong common basis.
New developments for growing requirements
A particular focus at bauma was on attachments for large tonnages such as the RSS 150 X scrap shear with a working weight of 17 tonnes. The reasons for the ever larger and more powerful attachments are larger carrier units, which are required to meet the increasing demands of the industry in terms of charging and handling ever larger and more demanding demolition parts. This is due to the fact that now more stable structures such as power plants are being dismantled, which were built with high-quality materials but have nevertheless reached the end of their service life.
In addition, there are also recycling tasks that haven’t been tackled until now, such as the deconstruction of abandoned oil platforms lying on the seabed. The previously often uncontrolled dismantling of ships has also been stopped, so that they are now dismantled in accordance with environmental and occupational safety standards and their components are professionally recycled. Many steelworks now only buy (certified) scrap that has been processed in accordance with environmental and human rights standards. For Rotar, it is a matter of course that the company’s existing broad expertise in demolition and recycling is constantly being expanded to meet these requirements.
Fully integrated ROQ adapter
In Munich, another focus was on the inhouse developed, fully integrated ROQ adapter system, which offers numerous advantages for all OilQuick, Steelwrist and Lehnhoff systems: Dealers do not have to assemble the system themselves, but receive a plug & play solution that is ready for immediate use. Users benefit from the flat design, low weight, optimised load centre of gravity, internal hoses with optimised fuel-saving hydraulic oil flow, significantly easier maintenance and even a lower purchase price.
The attachments also require considerably less time to service: The cover of the service opening, through which all important components in the rotary head can be reached, can be removed with just 5 screws. This makes the time-consuming disassembly of a conventional adapter plate with 18 screws unnecessary. And – particularly important in times of limited resources – this solution is also even cheaper than the previous solution with conventional adapter plates and is available for OQ, SQ and VL systems.
