HOLZ-HANDWERK 2028 runs from 28 to 31 March 2028 at the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg in Germany. Held every two years by NürnbergMesse together with the German woodworking trade association, it is the European trade fair for machine technology, equipment and supplies for the wood crafts, staged in parallel with FENSTERBAU FRONTALE.
For the recycling and resource efficiency side of the wood sector, the fair is where the technology for handling process residues is shown in operation: extraction and filtration systems, chippers and briquetting presses, dust and shavings handling, and the heating systems that turn offcuts into usable energy on site. Efficient cutting optimisation, panel yield and low-waste production are recurring themes across the machinery halls.
The supporting programme covers digitalisation of the joinery workshop, surface technology, automation for small series, and the skills shortage in the wood crafts. Visitors are mainly joiners, cabinet makers, carpenters and interior fitters from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the wider European market.
