Future-Oriented Metal Recycling: De Rooy Relies on WEIMA Solutions for Briquetting and Dewatering
The collaboration between De Rooy, Nuenen in the Netherlands, the WEIMA partner Dormatec Environment Systems, De Goorn, and WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH demonstrates how a circular economy can be implemented in metal processing.

Together, they worked on a solution to not only transport and dispose of metal waste such as grinding sludge and aluminum chips in a space-saving and cost-effective manner, but also to convert them into valuable, reusable materials. The two WEIMA presses, C.200 and TH 1500, play a central role in De Rooy's recycling process.

The Zinc Recovery Process of AIK Technik AG
The FLUREC process is an innovative method for extracting pure zinc from fly ash, which can then be sold at a profit. Here are the individual steps of the process as shown in the video: Fly ash, a by-product from the combustion of coal or other materials, is collected and processed. This may include drying, crushing or screening the fly ash to prepare it for further processing steps. Leaching: In this step, the prepared fly ash is treated with an acid solution. This solution dissolves the zinc out of the fly ash and forms a zinc-containing solution. Sulphuric acid is often used as it effectively dissolves zinc and is a relatively inexpensive option. | Read more »
Lower Costs Through Size Reduction With UNTHA
There are many reasons for shredding different materials. These include, among others, the reduction of required storage space, lower transport costs and the preparation for subsequent recycling processes. This is always accompanied by more efficient process design and a reduction in costs. In sectors such as the automotive industry, where large and bulky parts such as bonnets and car doors are disposed of, transported and processed, a shredder such as the UNTHA XR3000C is ideal.  | Read more »
