The new biomass fuel handling system will replace Kokkolan Energia’s current system
and will feed fuel to an existing boiler.
With this investment in a biomass fuel handling system we are pleased to to be able to
respond to our customers’ demands for renewable energy, says Tommi Korpi, Kokkolan
Energia’s acting CEO. “This is a significant investment on our road towards carbon-neutral energy production.”
With the new biomass fuel handling system Kokkolan Energia can reduce the use of
fossil fuels, says Senior Vice President Ari Nyrökorpi of BMH Technology. “We are pleased
to continue our long cooperation with Kokkolan Energia and are eagerly looking
forward to delivering this system. We have already delivered several this magnitude
biomass fuel handling systems reducing the use of peat and gas.”
The delivery includes a biomass fuel receiving station from where the fuel is conveyed
to screening, automatic sampling system and to a silo storage equipped with internal
reclaimer and conveyors. BMH also delivers external conveyors which transport the fuel
from the silo storage to an existing conveyor leading to the boiler.
The biomass fuel handling system will be delivered, installed and handed over by the
end of 2024.
