Founded in 1991, 3S has made a name for itself as the quality leader with its products manufactured for specialist requirements. Now, 100 employees at the company’s sites in Roitham and Wartberg produce key components for the plastics, rubber, chemical, oilfield and food industries as well as for ceramic extrusion, generating sales of around EUR 19 million. The focus continues to be on the manufacture of extruder screws for plastics and recycling technologies. Recently, 3S has processed between 1,200 and 1,500 extruder screw orders a year. Moreover, the company uses a patented laser process to manufacture filter screens for EREMA laser filters, which ensure maximum filtration performance when recycling post-consumer waste.
With the additional production area of 1,600 m² equipped with the very latest production machinery, over the past few months, the company headquarters in Roitham has been preparing for the increase in demand for its products and is ready for further successful business development. “Extruder screws consist of up to 30 parts, each of which is manufactured individually. We attach great importance to always being up-to-date in terms of production technology. This is the only way we can respond during product design to individual customer needs in all areas of extrusion applications,” says Walter Reisinger, Managing Director of 3S, explaining these measures. “The know-how acquired in other areas of business flows into the production of key components for plastics recycling. As a result, 3S creates a fundamental prerequisite for the production of high-quality recycled pellets and, subsequently, for the implementation of the circular economy for plastics.
Competence center for screw regeneration and wear protection
The services provided by 3S services are aimed at preventing loss of quality and production downtime that could occur as a result of wear to screws and cylinders. This is ensured by the company offering a wear inspection service at the customer’s site or at 3S, as well as repairs. At the Wartberg site, a separate competence center supported by experienced employees has been created for this purpose.
