A CUTTING-EDGE PLANT
Kiverco was selected to design, manufacture, and install this large-scale recycling plant which processes 150 000 tonnes of construction and demolition waste a year. With a capacity of 50 tonnes per hour, the facility will be able to recover at least 20 different products with an agreed high level of purity, where products such as hardcore and stone must achieve over 90% purity levels.
The installation of this recycling plant represents a significant investment for Ward Group. Typically equipped this type of pant is equipped with 1 or 2 optical sorters. The Derbyshire facility features 6 optical sorters provided by Pellenc ST. The sorting machines optimise the sorting process, guaranteeing high levels of purity, recovery and throughput, reducing the need for manual sorting. The optical sorters focus on product recovery rather than RDF / SRF cleanup. Sorting equipment is dedicated to recover valuable material from both the light, mid heavy and heavy fractions. Products are separated by material, colour and grade, such as brown cardboard, film, rigid plastics, and wood so that they can be given a second life through the various recycling channels.
The plant design helps recover more value from the waste. Ward’s primary objective of 100% of landfill diversion is now possible having invested in this State-of-the-art facility.
THE FRUIT OF A LASTING PARTNERSHIP KIVERCO – PELLENC ST
“We have partnered with Pellenc ST on a number of plants now, and we have a trusting relationship with real experience and know-how that we can put to good use in our customer performance. We still have many projects to carry out together at the end of the year and in 2025, and we’re already looking forward to working with the Pellenc ST team.” Says JP Devlin from Kiverco.
