On the path to climate neutrality, alternatives to the previously diesel-powered machines are required in the waste management and recycling industry. This demand is answered by the new hybrid version of the HAAS TYRON, a mobile, electric version. This innovative new development combines the flexibility of a mobile machine with the energy efficiency of a stationary unit. A 280kW electric motor replaces the combustion engine. A supplementary small 43kW diesel engine is used exclusively to operate the tracks.
For the shredding process, the hybrid-TYRON is connected to the mains via a convenient 3-phase quick connector. The electric motor offers a clear advantage in energy savings, not least thanks to its high efficiency compared to the diesel engine. With consistently high throughput rates, energy costs of up to 70 % can be saved compared to diesel-hydraulic drive versions!
The new hybrid TYRON provides maximum efficiency and mobile flexibility with a benefit for the environment.
The TYRON hybrid combines all the functions and advantages of the diesel-driven TYRON
When developing the hybrid machine, it was important to the HAAS design engineers that the shredding performance and reliability, compared to the diesel-powered TYRON, were not compromised! Apart from the use of an electric motor, the hybrid TYRON impresses with all the strengths and advantages of the diesel-powered version.
- aggressive material infeed
- No wrappings – self-cleaning
- High throughput capacity of up to 100 t/h
- High manoeuvrability
- Service- und maintenance-friendly
- Shreds different materials with just one tool configuration
“Climate protection and CO2 reduction are elementary challenges of our time. This TYRON combines the convenience of a mobile machine with the energy efficiency of a stationary plant. The shredding process is emission-free. This saves a significant amount of CO2 and is our contribution to climate protection. We hope that our customers feel the same – and decide to switch from diesel to electric drive.” Rene Perne – Vertriebsleiter bei HAAS Recycling Systems
- No exhaust emissions during operation.
- High energy efficiency.
- Low energy costs, minimal maintenance.
- Significant CO2 reduction.

The family-run business was founded in 1989 by Volker Haas. At first, HAAS focused on the design and manufacturing of vertical and horizontal drum chippers, screens and conveyors for the sawmill industry. The primary production program for the disposal of sawmill residual products has been steadily completed. During the last years – by means of ...
