At Holz-Handwerk 2026 in Nuremberg, WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH presents complete solutions, from the shredding of wood residues to the energetic utilization of wood chips. Together with a comprehensive partner network, WEIMA supports the day-to-day production of craft businesses with smart residual wood management to implement sustainable energy concepts.

Companies that want to utilize residual wood efficiently cannot do without powerful shredders and reliably coordinated conveying technology. For more than 46 years, WEIMA has been developing tailor-made solutions for joineries, carpentry shops, timber construction companies, as well as furniture and interior manufacturers, while also implementing complex system concepts for industrial wood processing. In the planning phase, WEIMA relies on a proven partner network. In cooperation with experts in conveying technology, extraction systems and heating technology, all systems are precisely coordinated.

“Our customers expect solutions that go beyond individual machines. We support them from the shredding of wood residues through the appropriate conveying technology or extraction, right through to the heating system. This is exactly the expertise we are showcasing at this year’s Holz-Handwerk,” says Fred Haller, Sales Director at WEIMA.

WL 4 shredder, proven technology, ready for the future

The focus of the trade fair appearance is the WEIMA WL 4 single-shaft shredder. In combination with a screw conveyor, WEIMA demonstrates in a practical way how material flow can be reliably controlled after shredding. The WL 4 features a working width of 600 mm with a solid steel rotor, a manually interchangeable perforated screen for defining the wood chip size, as well as a generously sized hopper with free-cutting function to prevent material bridging. “Thanks to our close cooperation with partners, we know exactly which screen to recommend so that the wood chips achieve the ideal size for the downstream heating system,” says Fred Haller.

WEIMA does more, expertise in conveying, extraction and heating

When implementing holistic system solutions, WEIMA relies on a broadly positioned partner network that has grown over many years. In close cooperation with specialists in conveying technology, screw conveyors, extraction technology and heating system construction, individual solutions are developed. Each application is analyzed in detail, with the goal of realizing technically sound, economically efficient and long-term system concepts.

What begins in the craft sector can also be transferred by WEIMA to more complex applications. In addition to compact solutions for smaller businesses, the machinery manufacturer also realizes sophisticated system concepts up to industrial wood processing, always tailored to individual requirements and processes.
