Pre-shredding MSW With the TANA Shark Mobile Shredder

10 Apr 2024  |
The municipal solid waste stream is composed of a variety of materials, including paper, plastics, glass, metal, organic waste, and other non-biodegradable materials.

Managing MSW is a significant challenge for governments and waste management companies, as it requires specialized equipment and facilities to handle and dispose of it safely.

TANA high-torque shredders make it possible to shred MSW to a very homogeneous 50 mm (2“) particle size in just one pass and separate most of the metals during the shredding process. A standard over band magnet separates most of the metal wires directly from the shredded material flow on the conveyor.

Once separated, shredded MSW and metals can be further sold and located to Waste-to-Energy plants, recycling purposes, composting or landfills.
