Buffalo, New York, June 23, 2026. WENDT CORPORATION is pleased to announce the successful installation and commissioning of a WENDT M6090 automobile shredder at John Zubick Ltd. in London, Ontario.

Integrated into the company’s existing recycling operation, the new WENDT shredder replaced a competitor’s machine and is already delivering significant improvements in throughput, efficiency, material quality, and recovery.

Founded in 1946 by John and Elaine Zubick and incorporated in 1953, John Zubick Ltd. has grown into one of Canada’s most respected family-owned recycling operations. Now led by the third generation of the Zubick family, the company has consistently invested in advanced processing technologies, expanding its capabilities through the addition of balers, shears, smelters, wire granulators, and shredding systems. Today, the nearly 80-year-old company operates on a 23-acre site and provides specialized recycling and scrap processing services throughout the region.

As the company evaluated options to replace an underperforming shredder, Vice President Ben Zubick became familiar with WENDT through industry peers and interactions at ReMA and CARI conventions.

“The versatility of the M6090 made WENDT the clear choice,” said Ben Zubick. “Its frame can adapt to multiple infeed and downstream configurations, creating opportunities for future growth. Additional factors included WENDT’s support team and the availability of complementary equipment to support expansion.”

The WENDT M6090 was installed within the facility’s existing footprint and features a 2,500 HP drive system with Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) technology, a WENDT Bowe Disc Rotor, and modular components including a 40-foot E-House, Control Pulpit, Fluid Power House, and Poker Picker all installed on a flat concrete pad.

“Our experience with WENDT was informative and thorough,” added Zubick. “While other manufacturers took a more aggressive sales approach, WENDT allowed the quality and performance of its equipment to speak for itself.”

Processing a feedstock mix that includes loose tin, appliances, light-gauge iron, automotive scrap, and heavy industrial materials, John Zubick Ltd. has already seen considerable operational gains since startup in May 2026. Operating four days per week, the company expects to process approximately 5,000 tons per month with the new system.

“The shredder is already producing 40-50 tons per hour, compared with approximately 15 tons per hour from our previous shredder,” Zubick stated. “We have seen significant improvements in production, material quality, and efficiency. In addition to the throughput gains, we’ve also seen improvement in material density and cleanliness.”

Throughout installation and the startup process, WENDT’s technical and service teams worked closely with the customer to ensure a seamless transition. “WENDT has supported our operation through responsive communication, detailed technical guidance, and hands-on assistance during installation, commissioning and early operation,” Zubick said.”

Looking ahead, John Zubick Ltd. plans to achieve a strong return on investment quickly and continue growing and enhancing their operations. “The WENDT shredder and WENDT team align with our long-term goals of growth, sustainability and investment in up-to-date technology,” added Zubick.
