With a capacity of 2 t/h, the new line will process PP material sourced from both local Romanian collection streams and other EU countries. The plant will cover the recycling process from sorting to washing, including a batch hot-washing stage, with the aim of achieving the high material quality required for demanding PP recycling applications.
Romania is already an important market for SOREMA, where several recycling lines have been installed over the years. The Total Recycling project, however, marks a new milestone: it will be the first SOREMA line in Romania specifically dedicated to the production of high-quality recycled PP, expanding the company’s references in the country into a new application.
The project comes at a time when investment decisions across the recycling industry are becoming increasingly selective. In this environment, recyclers are paying even greater attention not only to technological performance, but also to proven expertise, reliability and the long-term solidity of their technology partners.
The decision by Total Recycling to invest in a SOREMA solution therefore takes on particular significance. Backed by decades of experience in plastics recycling and by the industrial strength of the PREVIERO Group, SOREMA continues to demonstrate its ability to support ambitious recycling projects even in a more cautious market environment.
For both companies, the new Timișoara plant represents a forward-looking investment in the development of high-quality polypropylene recycling in Europe. For SOREMA, it also adds another important reference to its European installed base, confirming the value of a technological approach built around quality, reliability and long-term performance.
The new line is currently scheduled to start up in mid-2027.
